I can't answer the questions this week. Hookups are from after my time and I have no experience with the phenomenon, either as participant or observer. Curiously however, my wife brought an article from the NY Times to my attention. This was from a Q&Q feature in the Style Section:
Is a Married Man’s Photo on a Hookup App Appropriate?
I am a divorced single mom and recently downloaded the hookup app Tinder after hearing about a couple in their 40s who met through it and later married. But I was surprised to see a married father from my son’s school appear in the queue of available men. (It was the same picture he uses on Facebook.) I doubt he recognized me, but I am sure it was him. I am friendly with his wife. Do I tell her?

It should come as no surprise that my wife felt that the answer to the question in the title was "no." She was quite emphatic. She nuanced her remarks by pointing out that it's not the photo that is appropriate so much as the man being on site at all.
So you won't be finding my picture on Tinder. :)
It says something about the pervasiveness of social media that the NYT pays any attention to this at all.
